Syllabus Of 100 Hours Yoga Teacher Training Course In Rishikesh, India
01
BHAKTI YOGAThe term Bhakti comes from the root 'Bhaj', which means 'to be attached to God'. Bhajan, worship, Bhakti, Anurag, Prem, Priti are synonymous terms. Bhakti is love for love's sake. The devotee wants God and God alone. There is no selfish expectation here. There is no fear also. Therefore it is called 'Parama Prem Rupa'. The devotee feels, believes, conceives and imagines that his Ishtam (tutelary deity) is an Ocean of Love or Prem. Bhakti is the slender thread of Prem or love that binds the heart of a devotee with the lotus feet of the Lord. Bhakti is intense devotion and supreme attachment to God. Bhakti is supreme love for God. It is the spontaneous out-pouring of Prem towards the Beloved. It is pure, unselfish, divine love or Suddha Prem.
GYAN YOGAGyan yoga, also known as gyan marga, is the way of gaining true knowledge of the self. It is the art of union with the Divine, through pursuit of spiritual knowledge. A gyan yogi explores some very basic questions of life such as 'who am I' and 'how am I related to the world as a whole'. Wisdom so gained helps him in getting freedom from the cycle of births and deaths. Apart from gyan yoga, the other two paths prescribed in Bhagavad Gita are karma yoga and bhakti yoga. Though it is not possible to draw a clear-cut demarcation, but broadly speaking karma yoga and bhakti yoga are suitable for the men of action and men of emotion respectively ; and gyan yoga is pursued by the men of contemplation. One can choose the path of his spiritual freedom depending upon his interest, aptitude and inclination.
KARMA YOGAKarma yoga comes from the Sanskrit word that literally means 'action or doing'. Karma yoga is a path of action and it stands for selfless acts done for others. It is believed by some yogis that karma yoga is the best way to develop one's spiritual self. Karma yoga is the yoga of work or action, and this path is specifically oriented with dedicated work wherein an individual's selfless acts are offered as a spiritual offering to his personal God. It is the path that leads an individual to salvation by doing selfless acts. Salvation is the ultimate goal once an individual reaches the state of self-realization. Karma yoga is discussed in the Bhagavad Gita, the sacred text of Hindu. It teaches everyone to do work without focusing on the results. As when one is attached with the result of an action, the tendency is to become stressed, competitive and aggressive towards others. By understanding Karma yoga and its path, an individual who follows this principle will be able to work well without any stress which feels very satisfying and leads to life fulfillment.
CLASSICAL HATHA YOGAHatha yoga is called the 'yoga of asanas'. It's so because traditional hatha yoga texts are the only references that describe physical postures with such great detailing and importance. Before the hatha yoga period, asanas were meant for meditation purposes only. The very basic idea behind hatha yoga origin was the purification of the body and its elements before indulging in meditation (mental) practice. This idea builds a foundation for the physical postures, we know today as hatha yoga asanas. In hatha yoga, asanas are performed as the first limb instead of Yama and Niyama in contrary to Patanjali's eight limbs. According to Hatha yogis, self-discipline and self-control (what Yama & Niyama teaches) are only possible to practice when you're physically prepared. Hatha yoga asanas are the specific bodily positions that aim to open energy channels and psychic centers of the body. Beyond stretching and other physical effects, hatha yoga asanas have psychological means - It makes Prana moves freely. Prana flowing without any obstacle is the only key to a disease-free body.
RAJA YOGARaja yoga is one of the four classical schools of yoga alongside Jnana (knowledge or self-study), Bhakti (devotion) and Karma (action), each offering a path to moksha (spiritual liberation) and self-realization. In Sanskrit, raja means 'king' or 'royal,' referring to the status of Raja yoga as a 'royal path' or principal form of yoga. Traditionally, Raja yoga refers to both the goal of yoga and the method of attaining it. As such, it is also considered to be the state of peace and contentment that arises from sustained yoga and meditation practice. In essence, Raja yoga is the yoga of mind and body control, with a focus on meditation and energetics. It encompasses teachings from all the different paths, and it is from Raja yoga that hatha yoga and modern asana practice developed.
ASHTANGA VINYASA YOGA200 hour multi style yoga teacher training in Rishikesh at S V Yoga School follow the ancient tradition of Ashtanga Yoga as popularized by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. Traditionally, yoga helps you in completely knowing yourself and calm yourself. However, this real meaning can get a bit lost amidst the practices of exercise-centric yoga that seems to be very popular nowadays. Ashtanga yoga courses in India, on the other hand, brings modern-day yogis back to the ancient roots of yogic practice. Pattabhi's Ashtanga yoga comprises a fixed series of postures linked together with breath. Unlike modern-day yoga practices, the Ashtanga sequence of postures remains the same, and the practice is traditionally performed without music, mood lighting, or other factors of the western yoga class. By taking away these external factors, Ashtanga Yoga TTC India practitioners are able to streamline their attention inward, focusing on the internal aspects of yoga rather than the physical. During our Ashtanga yoga teacher training in India, we teach the whole primary series including rules of sequencing, pranayama, mantra chanting as well as drishti and bandha.
VINYASA YOGAOften confused with 'power yoga', Vinyasa Yoga is a modern, fast-paced practice inspired from the Ashtanga Vinyasa system and the highly-revered Guru T. Krishnamacharya himself. This style of yoga is characterized by easing postures together so that you move from one to another, seamlessly, using the synchronization of breath and drishti. The primary difference between Ashtanga and Vinyasa is that while the former follows a fixed sequence, the latter observes flowing of each pose organically and has no specific sequence. The dynamic nature of Vinyasa Yoga helps to acquire a more balanced body as well as prevent recurring motion injuries. During our 200 hour yoga training program in Vinyasa practice, we focus primarily on training you in sharp sequencing that not only strengthens your body but also allows the energy to smoothly flow through. Our ashtanga Vinyasa yoga teacher training India is taught keeping in mind the principles of alignment, meaning that even though you will move between postures swiftly, you would be taught safe practices so as to avoid any injuries.
ALIGNMENT & ADJUSTMENT YOGAYoga alignment describes how the body is arranged in yoga postures (asanas). This mainly includes creating straight lines and stacking bones - but it can mean so much more. Alignment isn't a rigid structure about making a perfect angles and creating that picture-perfect shape. On the contrary— it's about aligning each individual in a pose, utilizing their bodies' physical abilities and maintaining certain key principles in an adaptable way. Using key principles, modifications and props (yoga straps, blocks, etc), alignment can be achieved no matter what level of flexibility or mobility, and no matter the individual's shape or size. The main goals of alignment are to maximize the benefits in each asana and reduce susceptibility to injuries, but it can also relate to creating certain angles and idealist pose shapes with the body that are considered beautiful. The importance of adjustment and alignment in yoga cannot be focused enough. An extremely critical topic, your adjustment and alignment lessons focus on teaching your how to adjust in each asana without causing any injuries to your body. It is done not only to prevent your body from any new stress or injury but also to avoid inflicting harm to any existing injuries. In our Adjustment and Alignment class, you would learn to position your body exactly where it should be. At the same time, if you are pursuing the course to be a yoga teacher, you must learn how to work with your students and instruct them through various poses. By gaining a deeper understanding of anatomy, kinesiology and correct adjustment and alignment techniques, you can ensure that your students safely reap the benefits of yoga for years to come.
